The airline Vueling will no longer be flying between Sevilla and Paris (Charles de Gaulle), the service being cancelled due to a lack of one major ingredient, passengers. This follows the cancellation on January 10th of flights between Jerez and Paris for similar reasons.
The Sevilla-Paris route has been operational since June 2007 but the Jerez-Paris route only started in December 2007. Neither, however, appear to have proved economically viable. The daily service from Sevilla to Paris was initially reduced from ‘daily’ to ‘four times per week’ but has now been definitively cancelled as from today. The company has admitted that their plans on this occasion may have been a little on the ambitious side, hence the reorganisation of routes.
Vueling operate at four airports in Andalucía – Sevilla, Jerez, Granada and Málaga – with 50 routes nationwide and 20 in Andalucía.
