The Blue and Whites stay on top of Division Two after Numancia lost 1-0 to Elche, so promotion is still looking promising.

Barcelona took advantage of the slip-up by Real Madrid to close the gap at the top to six points, although it took until two minutes before the end of the game with Osasuna for Barca to get a goal. Xavi Hernández was the scorer. Third placed Villarreal were held to a 1-1 draw by visiting Mallorca.

Locally, C.D. Nerja lost 3-2 away to Mancha Real and slip to ninth in the Primera Andaluza Grupo 3. C.D. Ronda lead the pack in that division, followed by Estepona and Torremolinos, only four points separating the top three. Mancha Real, conquerors of our local lads, are in fourth place, but seven points adrift of third placed Torremolinos.
