The high winds and rough seas currently battering the Málaga coastline are expected to continue until at least Wednesday.
There are no reports of significant damage to beaches along the Costa del Sol although most areas are waiting a few days before even making an assessment
The last serious damage was in December, many beaches suffering a loss of sand amongst other things and much of which still has to be repaired.
In December, the municipal authorities found themselves regenerating beach areas damaged by earlier storms only to see their efforts nullified by fresh storms. Now, many of those municipalities are favouring a ‘wait and see’ policy until just before Easter before beginning remedial work.
January, incidentally, was one of the driest months for thirty-seven years.
