Fourteen athletes from the Cuevas de Nerja-UVM club participated in the National Indoor Championships at the Luis Puig stadium in Valencia, site of the upcoming World Championships, with Pilar Cortacero taking bronze in the 200 metres.
Cortacero came home in 24.60 seconds, Estela Garcia winning the race with a time of 24.55 seconds. Other creditable performances included a fifth place in the triple jump for Isabel Robles, fifth place for Lorena Aguilar in the shot and sixth place for Antonio Fernández in the 400 metres.
Javier López was seventh in the 60 metres sprint, Jeremy Catalán was seventh in the 200 metres and Ola Carlsson was ninth in the high jump after clearing 2.06 metres.
