For the second time, Torrox Council has failed to sell a plot of land for development, this time in Calaceite.
The plot of land, 10,711 square metres, has room for 92 dwellings but no-one has expressed any interest. The land was up for sale by auction with a starting price of €7,112,000.
Last year, a 5,726 square metre plot with a capacity for 49 homes also failed to attract any buyers. The starting price for that one was €3.8 million. The Council was banking on the sales to help finance their rather large 2007 budget! They now have to decide whether to lower the price a bit.
