Work is expected to start shortly on avenida Antonio Machado in Benalmádena which will reduce the road to a single lane in each direction until some time in June.
The project, with a budget of €917,000, is divided into three sections, but to avoid the work continuing past the summer, the Council has decided to carry out all three at the same time rather than one after the other.
Section One: Avenida La Roca to the Los Molinillos roundabout. Budget €161,529 .
Section Two: Carril de Siroco to avenida San Fermín. Budget €430,565.
Section Three: Avenida Alay to carril de Siroco. Budget €324,915.
The project consists of the installation of underground water collectors in order to prevent flooding in the future and work is scheduled to start after Easter, continuing until June.
