CHARITY MONEY STOLEN

A bit of excitement in avenida Castilla Perez, Nerja, last night to liven up what had been a slow day for many, despite it being market day in the town.

Late last night, two men entered Bar El Bosque on avenida Castilla Perez and ordered drinks, as one would. They were then joined by a woman and they all sat down. All very normal, but their behaviour was such that it did attract the attention of the bar staff.

It was then noticed that one of the charity collection tins was missing and attempts had been made to remove two others. When the trio left the bar, one of the staff followed them down the road where their behaviour continued to be suspicious. The trio were then joined by other individuals.

Meanwhile, plain-clothed police appeared on the scene – well, police wearing coats over their uniforms – and, after a chase during which time police weapons were drawn, several individuals were detained.

The police had obviously been searching for this gang who, presumably, had been carrying out their dastardly deeds throughout the town. If anyone else suffered a robbery yesterday then please let us know. It is highly likely that the gang would have taken advantage of the local market to boost their personal incomes.

The villains are believed to be either Moldavians or Rumanians, although this has yet to be confirmed.
