At least one more robbery took place in Nerja on Tuesday.
Two Rumanian nationals, a girl aged about 18 years and a man aged around 30 years, visited a shop in Plaza Cavana. At the checkout, the couple paid for a pair of socks and started to leave. The security alarm sounded and the couple, obviously realising they had inadvertently forgotten to pay for one or more items, bolted down the street. The shop assistants set off in pursuit and caught up with the girl in calle Barrio.
Later, the Local Police began a search for the man and eventually found him in calle Málaga. Both individuals were duly nicked but, after being charged, were released as neither had a previous criminal record and the value of the goods stolen was less than €150!!
