A bomb exploded in the doorway to the Casa del Pueblo in Derio, Vizcaya, just after 01:00 last night causing substantial material damage.
The authorities received an anonymous phone call stating that a bomb had been placed at the Casa del Pueblo, headquarters of the socialist PSE-EE party, and that it was set to explode at 01:00. And explode it did.
Although the material damage was substantial there were no casualties as the Erzaintza were able to evacuate the adjacent buildings. The bomb was left in a rucksack.
Investigators are trying to determine whether this latest incident was carried out by the ‘Comando Vizcaya’, a unit though to be responsible for at least a dozen actions since the end of the truce.
