The man detained in connection with the death of a 23 year old Moroccan girl at her home in Granada has confessed to being the killer.
The girl, a student, was found dead in her apartment on Tuesday. She had been stabbed twenty times in the chest in what can only be described as a cruel and vicious attack. There was no sign of forced entry into the apartment, which led police to believe that she knew her killer.
Yesterday, police officers detained a 52 year old man in connection with the killing and he has since confessed to the crime.
The man, of no fixed abode, was generally to be found hanging around Plaza de Toros, which is apparently where he was first introduced to the girl, a pharmacy student, by a friend of his who lived in the same apartment block.
The alleged killer has stated that, at the time of the attack, the motive of which was sexual, he was ‘drunk’. After killing the girl, he left the city but later returned to Plaza de Toros, still with blood on his clothing, and was detained for questioning. He has a record of prior arrests for violent and sexual attacks.
