New phishing attack relating to pending Income Tax refunds

A new phishing attempt has been detected by the Agencia Tributaria (Inland Revenue) whereby fraudsters are sending out emails notifying people of a pending refund.

The emails refer to a non-existent resolution of March 4th and state that approval has been given for a tax refund. It then directs you, through an internet link, to a third-party site where personal details, such as account numbers etc. are requested. The emails use Agencia Tributaria logos and a (fake) signature of the director and, naturally, look genuine.

The Agencia Tributaria will never ask for bank, credit card details etc via email. Do not get caught.
