Estepona is getting ready for the first influx of visitors during the Easter holiday period with the Department of Coasts carrying out repairs to some of the main beaches damaged by the storms of the past few months.
The initial repairs will be to the main beaches, including El Cristo and Punta la Plata, with replacement sand being brought in and remedial work being carried out on various bits of beach furniture and the clearing of access points.
However, the damage to much of the Estepona coastline was quite substantial and the remedial work will have to be continued after the Easter break. Bridges need to be repaired, signs replaced, shower units repaired and much sand is needed on most of the secondary beaches in the area. The aim now is to have everything shipshape for the main, summer holiday period.
