In the biggest single operation against copyright piracy conducted in Spain so far, six Chinese nationals have been arrested in Madrid.
Operation ‘Ave’ has resulted in the arrest of six Chinese nationals, five men and one woman, in Madrid after an investigation lasting three months. The police also discovered three storage warehouses in Leganes and a production facility in Arganda del Rey.
The network had a production capability of 80,000 cd’s per day which, if all were sold, would mean a daily income of €240,000. In the raids, police seized 240 recorders and 20 large-scale duplicators as well as 155,000 cd’s, over half of which had already been recorded.
The dodgy cd’s were being distributed throughout Spain by this network.
