A judge in Marbella has ordered unconditional (no chance of bail) detention in prison for two of the four high-ranking UDYCO (Drugs and Organised Crime) police officers arrested on Tuesday.
After a long day in court, the judge hearing the case against four UDYCO police officers has ordered unconditional prison for two of the defendants and conditional (possibility of bail) detention for the other two. In addition, the judge ordered conditional detention for a Marbella cosmetic surgeon who was also arrested on Tuesday.
The unconditional detention orders apply to the heads of the organised crime units in Málaga and Marbella, the two men having been charged with offences against fundamental rights, embezzlement, misrepresentation, bribery and failure to prosecute a crime.
The conditional detention orders apply to the head of the Fuengirola organised crime unit, charged with offences against fundamental rights, and an inspector assigned to the Málaga unit who is charged with embezzlement and breaking and entering.
