Two of the children injured when an inflatable castle collapsed near Marmolejo, Jaén, are still in intensive care at the del Hospital Alto Guadalquivir in Andújar. Both are in a serious condition.
A preliminary investigation into the incident by Guardia Civil officers indicates that the bouncy castle was not fastened to the ground.
The accident happened at 15:40 on Saturday when the bouncy castle, located in a service area on the A-4 near Marmolejo, collapsed after being caught by a gust of wind. Seven children were injured, three of them seriously and two of those remain in intensive care in a serious but stable condition.
The Guardia Civil investigation suggests that the castle was not fixed to the ground and they are passing their findings to a judge in order to ascertain whether civil or criminal proceedings should be brought against the owners of the castle, Mercatur Iliebana S.L. Several of the parents of the children injured in the accident have expressed their intention of denouncing the owners.
