There were two fatal industrial accidents in Málaga province yesterday, one in Antequera and one in Marbella, bringing the total so far this year to five.
At around midday, a 41 year old man in Antequera fell from a height of around seven metres. He was rushed to hospital but medical staff were unable to do anything to save his life. An investigation is underway to determine whether adequate safety procedures were installed and being operated at the site.
At around 14:30, a 37 year old Argentine national died in Marbellaafter the cab of his lorry was crushed by falling concrete. It seems that the man had failed to notice that the crane on the back of the lorry was not fully down after he had finished loading his cargo and it clipped an archway in urbanisation Alicate de Playa III, sending the structure crashing down onto his cab.
