Barcelona’s hopes of winning La Liga are rapidly fading after a 2-2 draw against Recreativo.
Samuel Eto’o gave Barcelona an ideal start with a goal after just one minute, but a controversial goal by Marco Rúben just before half-time leveled things out. After the restart, Eto’o was on target again with a cracking shot from outside the area, but once again it was Marco Rúben who restored the status quo and the points were shared.
Racing Santander are closing in on a Champions League spot after a 1-2 victory at Valencia. Colsa gave Racing the lead only to see Villa equalise from the penalty spot four minutes later after Morientes was fouled by Duscher. Then, with just four minutes to go, Tchité got on the end of a Pablo Alvarez cross to win the game for Racing. Valencia are now only four points above the drop zone pending today’s games and there are rumours that Ronald Koeman could soon be out on his ear , perhaps even before next Wednesday’s cup final against Getafe.
