National Police officers in Estepona have arrested four people in connection with drugs trafficking and seized almost one million euros in cash.
The four detainees are all of Franco-Algerian origin and were initially detained in relation to the forging of documents. Cooperation with the French police then led to the discovery that the men were also wanted in France in connection with drugs trafficking and, in particular, involvement in a shipment of 825 kilos of hashish which was intercepted near Lyon. International arrest warrants were then issued.
In the raid in Estepona, the police seized €820,400 in cash, two luxury cars and various forged documents includong passports, driving licences and identity cards.
