Hijacked tuna boat now anchored off Somali coast

The Basque tuna boat, ‘Playa de bakio’, which was attacked by pirates is now anchored off the Somali coast.

It is now known that there are not four but ten pirates on board the ‘Playa de Bajio’. This information came when one of the captives was allowed to make a short telephone call to his father. The initial attack may have been carried out by four men but others seem to have joined at a later stage.

All but the Captain and Chief Engineer of the ‘Playa de Bakio’ are apparently confined to the dining room. There is still no news of any demands made by the hijackers.
