A light plane which crashed near Luciana, Ciudad Real, was carrying more than 200 kilos of hashish.
The plane, with three people on board, was coming in to land at an airstrip at El Castaño farm on the outskirts of Luciana when, for reasons as yet unknown, it crashed into a ravine. Two of the occupants died in the crash and the third is in hospital.
The plane was carrying more than 200 kilos of hashish to the farm, owned by Emilio Botín, where several vehicles were waiting to collect the drugs. The farm is 11,000 hectares and is officially dedicated to hunting and agriculture.
