Friday May 9th is the start of an exhibition at the Sala Mercado in Nerja which is entitled ‘El Mundo es un perfume, una exposición de narices’ (The world is a perfume….)
The exhibition starts at 12:30 and boasts 350 exhibits including perfumes, shaving articles, bottles, soaps and provides answers to some of those burning questions, such as ‘What is the origin of Cologne water?’ and ‘What type of razor blades were Malagueños using in the 1920’s and 1930’s?
It is basically a history of the European contribution to the perfume up to the middle of the twentieth century and includes contributions by some of the most famous artists and designers in this sphere, such as René Lalique and Rafael de Penagos.
