Valentino Rossi claimed his first victory of the season at the China MotoGP this morning, his first win in eight outings.
On a damp track, he and Spain’s Dani Pedrosa battled for the lead until the final few laps when Rossi gained the upper hand. Reigning World Champion Casey Stoner was third and Jorge Lorenzo, injured during practice, was a valiant fourth.
Pedrosa now leads the World Championship standings, seven points ahead of compatriot Lorenzo.
