The Local Police have dismantled a small ‘hippy’ community on Carabeillo beach in Nerja.
Three foreigners and one Spaniard were yesterday removed from Carabeillo beach in Nerja where they had set up a small campsite. The police had been called following complaints about noise and dogs on the beach.
Upon arriving at the site, the Police asked the group for identification papers. None of the foreigners had a passport and the Spaniard had no DNI card (identity card), an offence which carries a hefty fine.
The Spaniard was handed a fine of €300 for not having a DNI card and the group were fined €30 for having dogs on the beach contrary to the local by-laws and €450 for messing up the area with rubbish.
