A total of 187 illegal immigrants have arrived along the Andalucía coastline in the past twenty-four hours.
The boats have turned up in Cádiz, Almería and Granada. Two boats, carrying 50 passengers, were intercepted off Los Caños de Meca in the municipality of Barbate, Cádiz province.
Another boat, carrying 36 males, was intercepted off the Granada coastline near the island of Alborán. All were in good health and are now in Motril awaiting further processing. A second boat arrived in Motril port last night after being intercepted by the Guardia Civil off the Granada coast. On board were 26 males, all in good health.
The largest package was intercepted south of Almería. Amongst the 75 passengers were 16 women and five children, three of them babies. On this occasion, it was the occupants of the boat who alerted the Maritime Rescue Service after they had become lost and their boat suffered damage.
