The National Police has arrested five youths, one of them in Málaga, who are world renowned ‘hackers’.
The group, who do not know each other personally but coordinate their operations via the internet, are thought to be responsible for attacks on 21,000 web pages. Amongst their victims was the IU party, many of whose portals were destroyed or made inaccessible. One of their main pages was replaced by caricatures of political figures from other parties and was signed ‘the hackers’.
The group, who include two sixteen year olds, are ranked fifth in the world on the list of notorious and prolific hackers. The police investigation began in March and the arrests were timed to coincide with World Internet Day. Who says the police don’t have a sense of humour?
The other arrests were made in Barcelona, Valencia and Burgos provinces.
