Nerja Council has announced a programme relating to Bulimia and Anorexia as part of the International Day of Action for Women’s Health on May 28th.
The International Day of Action for Women’s Health dates back to May 28th 1987 when a gathering of over 600 women at an International Health Workshop in Costa Rica decided it would be a good idea to have a special day to reflect upon health issues pertaining to women.
The Nerja Council has chosen bulimia and anorexia as the subjects of this year’s information day and the event is being organised by the Councillor for Youth, Charo Villasclaras, and the Councillor for Equality, Andrés Márquez Castro.
The event takes place on Wednesday, May 28th, at 18:00 in the Nerja Cultural Centre in calle Granada.
The discussion is entitled ‘anorexia and bulimia – how to detect and deal with it’ and speakers include:
Asunción Ortego – Psychologist and Psychotherapist relating to Specialist Behavioural Disorders.
Rosa Sanz – Representative from ADANER (Care Association for Anorexia Nervosa and Bulimia in Málaga)
Amanda Garcia Rico – Sufferer.
