Evidence is emerging that Colombian FARC rebels were planning an attack on Colombian nationals in Madrid.
Following the death of the FARC rebel commander Raúl Reyes, the Colombian authorities have been analysing the contents of various computers belonging to the leader.
They have discovered information relating to an attack on Colombian residents in Madrid, videos of the new leader of FARC, Alfonso Cano, and details relating to the shooting of 11 hostages in 2002, an act which they wanted to blame on government forces.
The computers, and specifically emails contained therein, allegedly show links between the FARC rebels and officials in both Ecuador and Venezuela.
