The Local Police in Nerja have arrested two Rumanians in connection with a number of robberies in the area.
On Tuesday afternoon, several businesses in the Barriada de los Poetas area of the town reported thefts, mostly of alcoholic beverages and said that two men, ‘who looked Rumanian’, were involved and were driving a light coloured Nissan Primera with Granada plates.
It didn’t take the local boys in black to locate the individuals and as they approached the suspects, one of them tried to make a run for it.
The suspects were indeed Rumanian, identified as Rosen Boyanov and Vasile Crudu. Inside the car were numerous bottles of alcoholic beverages, some sealed in aluminium foil to avoid detection by electronic devices. The two men were not able to provide any receipts for the drinks and were duly arrested.
There were also reports of several thefts of purses from homes in the area, also allegedly attributable to these two villains.
