Torrox Council is working on the design for a network of cycle paths to connect all the major population centres in the municipality.
Torrox, which boasts the best climate in Europe, is keen to promote the use of the bicycle within the municipality and designs are being drawn up for a 20 kilometre network of cycle paths. There is currently only one cycle path in existence, in El Morche, but this is in poor condition and interrupted in several places.
The idea is to connect the major population centres and have cycle paths which extend as far as Vélez-Málaga at the western end and Nerja at the eastern end.
The plans will involve a review of the PGOU (all hail and genuflect) but that should cause no problem as Torrox Council has revoked the current plan.
