The cost of the Nerja History Museum is set to rise by 30% as a result of changes requested by the local Council.
Work on the building began late last summer and the Museum is expected to open its doors to the public before the end of 2009. The original budget for the project was €1.8 million, but this will now increase by around 30% due to the implementation of a number of changes requested by the local Council.
The changes, or modifications, relate to the placement of fire exits, electrical installations and the development of the annexed plaza. The Nerja Caves Foundation, originator of the project, is likely to foot most of the increased costs itself.
