The promenade at Ferrara Playa in Torrox is to undergo the first renovations since its construction, but not until after the summer season.
The works, budgeted at €300,000, will include incorporating a pipeline to the new residual water processing plant currently being built in the Rio Manzano area of El Morche.
The mayor and Councillor for Tourism, Toñi Claros, has also been in Madrid to discuss the ‘urgent’ project to stabilise Ferrara Playa in order to prevent the annual erosion and loss of sand as a result of the inevitable storms and bad weather.
Three options for stabilising the beach, including the building of jetties, are apparently being studied and a decision on which one has been chosen will be made next month. However, despite being classified as ‘urgent’, such works are not expected to be completed for three years!
