The Local Police in Nerja detained three Rumanian nationals yesterday morning on suspicion of thefts from various shops in calle Pintada.
The three individuals began their little spree in the leather shop Los Alamos, one of them trying to distract the owner while the other two tried to nick stuff. The shop owner was alert to the situation and telephoned the police, causing the three would-be robbers to flee.
Next stop was Foto Sistema where a foreigner was relieved of his wallet. The police were quickly on the scene and caught up with the thieves near Plaza Cavana.
There seems to have been a lot of incidents recently involving Rumanian nationals and thefts, although such a statement is quite likely to be considered politically incorrect.
