People in the area of Ronda commonly known as Indiana have been reporting nasty smells, an accumulation of scum and, on occasions, the appearance of dead fish in the rio Guadiaro.
The complaints come just two months after the entry into operation of the new water purification plant in Ronda.
Local residents want to know if discharges of sewage are still occurring in the area. They are also demanding to know when the authorities are planning to clean up the rio Guadiaro and the timescale for such an operation.
The local Council has apparently been unable to carry out controls relating to the unauthorised or uncontrolled discharge of waste into the rio Guadiaro due to internal party political problems!
