Burriana beach in Nerja is getting all geared-up for main summer season with its new image and increased sandy area.
The surface area of sand has almost doubled as the result of work carried out during the winter months. Areas of vegetation have been removed, beach furniture renovated or replaced, lighting improved and the surface area occupied by sunbeds has been reduced.
Other facilities have been improved and the number of beach volleyball ‘courts’ has been increased from three to five. A special chair has also been acquired which makes bathing for the disabled much easier.
Amongst other innovations introduced to improve the general ‘image’ of the area are regulations on the colour of sunbed covers and fixed parasols and a sort of ‘dress code’ or ‘uniform’ for municipal employees. These apply not only to Burriana but also to the other beaches in the municipality.
