A judge has ordered detention in custody without the possibility for bail for two of the now 26 people arrested in the corruption investigation ‘Operation Astapa’ in Estepona.
José Ignacio Crespo, a former GIL councillor and current spokesman for the Partido Estepona (PES), and an engineer, initials X.W., are now behind bars. Thirteen of the twenty-six detainees have so far appeared in court during the preliminary hearings, the other eleven managing to secure bail.
