Garbage disposal operatives in San Fernando, Cádiz have started industrial action in pursuit of their demand for a new pay package.
The strike by employees of Urbaser, the company responsible for the collection and disposal of garbage, started last night and has no fixed time limit.
The Unions say that the strike is as a result of the uncompromising stance being taken by Urbaser in negotiations concerning pay and working conditions. Urbaser, on the other hand, say that the current demands by the 120 employees would see the wage bill rise by 75% compared to 2007.
