The contract for the proposed new health centre in Alhaurín El Grande has been awarded to the company Imaga Proyectos y Construcciones S. A.
The company enetred a bid of €3,257,709, which was €1.6 million below the original tender price. It is though that work on the new health centre, a four storey building, may begin in September of this year.
The project is being funded on a 50%-50% basis by the Andalucían helath Service and Alhaurín Council. The site for the new centre is a 2,232 square metre plot of land next to the municipal nursery. Once completed, the centre will become municipally owned.
The current thinking is that the health centre will open for business in 2010.
