The Cajamar bank in Nerja have granted a loan so that work on the nursing home can be completed.
The Cajamar bank has granted a €1.5 million loan which will enable the residential nursing home to be completed, at long last. The agreement was signed yesterday at a ceremony in the Town Hall which was attended by the mayor, José Alberto Armijo, the director of the Cajamar bank in Nerja, Antonio García, the manager of the Nerja Caves Foundation, Ángel Ramírez and Sister Purificación González, representing the Hermanas del Buen Samaritano.
The project was started seven years ago, financed by contributions from the Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs, The Nerja Council, the Nerja Caves Foundation and donations from local businesses. It is currently about 50% complete.
The new loan will now allow the work to be completed and the new facility, with places for 64 residents, could open its doors in 2010.
