Internal Affairs are investigating the disappearance of 100 kilos of cocaine from the police headquarters in Sevilla.
The discovery of the ‘disappearance’ was made when a defence lawyer in a court case requested a second analysis of an alleged drugs cache, a rare but not unknownl occurrence. However, it was then discovered that the drugs had disappeared and had been replaced by some other substance. On the black market, the missing drugs would fetch about 5 million euros.
There is apparently no sign of forced entry to the drugs storeroom, which means that either one of the three existing keys, or duplicates thereof, were used to gain entry. It is also thought that the drugs were removed over a period of time, being carefully replaced by other substances in order to avoid detection.
