Torrox Council has completed phase one of works on the N-340 in El Morche.
The roadworks have been beset by problems and the completion of phase one of the project is one year behind schedule.
The company originally awarded the contract was fired by the Council who then had to take over the project themselves. In the meantime, local residents have been voicing their feelings about the constant delays and disruption to their lives.
The next phase of the project, which will also be divided into several stages, is the building of a bridge near the petrol station. The work is scheduled to start almost immediately as, under an agreement signed with the Central Government, the whole thing has to be finished by the end of the year!
