Work on the second sewage plant in Torrox is about 40% complete and could be finished by the end of 2009.
The second sewage plant in Torrox, which will serve a population of 95,000 and also cover Aggorrobo Costa and part of Caleta de Vélez, is expected to be completed by the end of 2009.
The project is costing around €14 million and when completed, will mean that the only town in the Axarquia without a residual water processing plant will be Nerja.
On that subject, the latest news is that approval of the project is still awaiting an environmental impact study and tendering for the project would be in 2011 at the very earliest.
