Two more athletes at the Beijing Olympics have been sent home after failing drugs tests, one of them a double medal winner.
Jong Su Kim of South Korea has been stripped of his silver medal in the men’s 50m pistol and his bronze in the men’s 10m air pistol after testing positive for the drug propranolol. The drug is generally used to control hyper-tension and anxiety.
The second athlete to be sent home is Thi Ngan Thuong Do from Vietnam. She competed in the Artistic Gymnastics Women’s All-Round, finishing in 59th place. She tested positive for the drug Furosemide, generally taken to mask the use of other drugs.
