Great Britain now has seven gold medals after winning three more on what is known as ‘Super Saturday’, a day when thirty gold medals were on offer.
Chris Hoy and Bradley Wiggins both struck gold in the cycling, with Ross Edgar earning silver and Steven Burke and Chris Newton both getting bronze
In rowing, the men’s coxless four surged to gold, fighting back to beat Australia in the last 250 metres. Britain also claimed bronze in the men’s and women’s double sculls.
Great Britain are currently seventh in the medals table with 7 gold, 3 silver and 7 bronze. However, if the medal table were for events involving sitting on your backside, Team GB would probably be at the top!
The teams in 4th, 5th and 6th places also have 7 gold medals each but they have more of the other coloured ones.
