Two masked robbers got away with between €100,000 and €160,000 after a dawn raid on Jimmy’s discoteque in calle Antonio Millón, Nerja.
The incident happened a few days ago, the thieves entering the premises at around 07:00, just after it had closed. The two remaining staff members were busy sorting out the takings.
The robbers then pulled out guns and demanded that the staff open the safe. Having emptied the safe, the robbers ran out of the building and jumped into a getaway car which was waiting in calle Antonío Millón.
Early indications are that the thieves could be of East European origin.
Jimmy’s is a very popular nightclub in Nerja, with thousands of visitors every night.
