The third edition of the folk music competition Málaga Eurofolk’j 2008 gets underway tomorrow and continues until August 31st with concerts in Alameda, Torrox, Archidona and Valle de Abdalajís.
Contestants this year are from all over Spain as well as from Italy and Portugal where knockout competitions were staged to decide their entrants.
The series of competitive concerts begins in Alameda tomorrow night, the venue being the Parque de la Constitución. On Friday it’s the turn of Torrox, Saturday it’s Archidona and it all ends on Sunday night in Valle de Abdalajís.
All concerts start at 22:00 and entrance is free, gratis and for nothing.
The prizes this year are:
Winner: €4,000
2nd place: €1,500
3rd place: €1,200
In addition to the cash prizes, the winners will also have the opportunity to record a promotional CD, be contracted for folk festivals in Spain, Portugal and Italy and will have €1,200 at their disposal for promotional purposes.
