Judge Rafael Tirado, heavily criticised for not ensuring that the alleged killer of Mari Luz Cortes was where he should have been, namely behind bars, following an earlier conviction for abusing a minor, his own daughter, has received his punishment. The prosecution, who considered the judges actions to be seriously negligent, were demanding either a three year suspension from duty, a transfer or removal from the bench.
The CGPJ, the ruling body for the judiciary, has made its decision.
The judge has been fined €1,500….!! That really is a severe for a serious error of judgement which may have caused the unnecessary death of a five year old girl. You get bigger fines for making a noise or holding an unapproved protest march!!!
