Capdevila opening the scoring in the seventh minute and Villa added a second on the quarter hour mark. The visitors did have a couple of chances late in the first half but were unable to capitalise.
In the second half, Del Bosque gave a first cap to Bojan, bringing him on in the 65th minute as a replacement for Cazorla. Villa continued to be a handful for the Armenians and in the 79th minute he got his second goal of the match after picking up a Xabi Alonso pass and shooting low inside the near post. Three minutes later, Marcos Senna got in on the act to make it four goals to nil.
