Firefighters from Linares, Jaén, have been working all night to extinguish a fire at the Tradema factory.
The fire has affected three silos containing hundreds of tons of crushed timber and wood shavings, the raw materials used by the factory. Although the fire was brought under control at around midnight on Tuesday, it has not yet been fully extinguished due to the enormous temperatures reached by the burning ash.
The cause of the fire is not yet known. It is also uncertain whether the factory can resume business in the short term due to the loss of so much of its raw materials. Around 170 people are employed at the factory.
