Torrox Council has set up an investigation as to whether the chief of the Local Police, José Roque, committed an act of forgery.
The investigation relates to an incident last April when the police chief allegedly sent a certificate stating that one of his officers was a teacher for a course for self defence during instances of gender violence. The objective of the certificate was to improve the cv of the officer so as to enable her to attend a further course for teachers.
Such certificates carry the name, and therefore implied authorisation, of the mayor. The Councillor for Security, Manuel Doves (PIU), has apparently stated that the police chief used the wrong form but there was no illegality involved.
Whether the alleged romantic connection between the police chief and the officer will have any bearing on the case is anybody’s guess!
