The Nerja Council has been paying tribute to three local athletes for their performances this year and presenting them with awards.
Those receiving the awards were:
Ángela Guerrero Lobato, who became Spanish beach volleyball champion 2008 in Gran Canaria and was selected by the national team for the European Championships in Greece and the World Championships in Holland.
Noelia Muñoz Oliva, who along with Ángela Guerrero Lobato, became Spanish beach volleyball champion.
Marina Franco Sanchez, third in the Spanish Handball Championships (cadet) and selected for the national team.
The presentations were made by the Councillor for Sports, Andrés Márquez, President of the Municipal Sports Council, Enrique López Cuenca, and the delegate of the Municipal Sports Council, José Antonio Fernández Iranzo.
